TO: Our amazing and supportive patients and friends
Currently, the CDC and our North Carolina Board of Optometry is recommending that all routine eye care be deferred for approximately 2 weeks in order to slow the transmission of COVID-19 through our community.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
Mooresville Eye Care will remain open with limited staff.
We will and will always remain available for our patients with previously scheduled appointments for chronic ocular diseases and will also be available for urgent needs for both established and new patients. This includes eye infections and injuries, sudden vision changes, loss of vision; this is an ongoing effort to keep patients out of Emergency Rooms in order to maintain resources for COVID-19 and ongoing flu patients.
There will be a staff member available to answer your questions, place contact lens orders and process medication refills where appropriate. We have arranged safe practices to dispense spectacle glasses and contact lenses to those orders that have already been placed and are ready for delivery. In addition, if you are low or have run out of contact lenses, please contact our office. We will either dispense an additional set of diagnostic lenses or extend your prescription and order you additional supply to get you through the next several weeks/months.
We are taking the recommended precautions to ensure the health and safety of our patients, community and staff and have therefore implemented a now fairly standard protocol prior to entry into our facility:
1. Have you or a family member been out of the country in the last month?
2. Have you or a family member had contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19?
3. Have you traveled farther than 50 miles from your home in the last month?
4. Have you or a family member had any flu like symptoms in the last 2 weeks?
5. Do you or a family member have a fever?
If you answer “YES” to any of the above questions, please call our office at 704-663-3924; we will be happy to assist you in any way we can including getting you a telecommunications call to speak with one of our doctors on call.
If you answered NO to the above questions, we will be able to render treatment in our office.
As always, we are here for you if you need us. Please feel free to call anytime with questions or concerns. We want to take a quick moment to thank you for your understanding, patience and support of our small business during this time.
