Julie Cole, OD
Optometrist
Dr. Cole was born and raised in Iowa. She attended Iowa State University where she graduated with honors receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2003. After college she moved to Boston, Massachusetts where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree, graduating with honors from The New England College of Optometry in 2007. Following graduation from Optometry school, Dr. Cole completed her residency training in Primary Care and Ocular Disease at the White River Junction VA Hospital in White River Junction, Vermont in 2008.
Dr. Cole was hired to work at an attending doctor in Vermont at the White River Junction VAMC after her residency and then went to work at a private hospital outside of Boston before moving to North Carolina in 2011. Since 2011 she has been working in private practice and joined Mooresville Eye Care in 2018.
Dr. Cole lives in Mooresville with her husband, two young daughters and dog. When she’s not working, Dr. Cole enjoys spending time with family, traveling, hiking and reading.
Laura Buchanan, OD
Optometrist
Dr. Laura Buchanan is a native of Cary, NC. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Appalachian State University and graduated with her Doctorate of Optometry from The New England College of Optometry. Dr. Buchanan completed a year residency in Primary Eye Care and Ocular Disease at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salisbury.
Dr. Buchanan practiced in the Buffalo, NY area for eight years and recently moved back to North Carolina.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, reading a good book, or snuggling with her two dogs.
